Content delivery networks (CDNs) excel at delivering a superior subscriber experience by distributing content over dedicated network facilities and, where possible, caching content closer to the subscriber. In effect, CDNs bypass the uncontrolled, frequently congested public internet and deliver content directly to the broadband service provider. However, with dramatic increases in downstream web traffic, especially streaming long-form, increasingly high-def video, the broadband access network itself has become a bottleneck.
Broadband service providers (BSPs) can use the Zeugma Services Node to extend the reach of CDNs all the way to the subscriber premises, thereby ensuring end-to-end quality of service to their customers.
