 Service provider network architectures and business challenges have evolved to the point where current generation subscriber management systems no longer suffice. These systems where developed during a time in which interface and protocol diversity and supporting connectivity were the primary design objectives. Today, virtually all broadband access systems (DSLAMs, OLTs, etc.) employ GE or 10 GE uplinks, making connectivity more straightforward. However, while network and protocol connectivity have simplified, subscriber and service diversity have intensified, changing the fundamental architectural requirements for broadband service providers.
The Zeugma Services Node is the first in a new generation of service delivery routers (SDRs) that integrates extensive service management with robust and highly granular subscriber management capabilities. This allows service providers to better manage subscriber connectivity while quickly developing and deploying new services.
